CINCINNATI: Greenebaum Doll & McDonald PLLC is pleased to announce that Shanda L. Spurlock, an Associate in the firm’s Cincinnati office, has been appointed to the Supreme Court of Ohio’s Commission on Professionalism (Commission) for a three-year term, effective January 1, 2010.
The Commission on Professionalism promotes professionalism among attorneys admitted to practice law in Ohio and aspires to advance the highest standards of integrity and honor among members of the legal profession. In addition, the Commission monitors and coordinates professionalism efforts and activities in Ohio courts, bar associations, and law schools; promotes and sponsors state and local activities that emphasize and enhance professionalism; develops educational materials and other information for use by judicial organizations; assists in the development of law school orientation programs; makes recommendations to the Supreme Court and other judicial organizations on methods by which professionalism can be enhanced; and oversees and administers a mentoring program for attorneys newly admitted to the practice of law in Ohio.
The Commission on Professionalism is composed of five judges, six lawyers, two law school administrators or faculty and two persons not admitted to practice law in any state. Lawyer commissioners are appointed by the Ohio State Bar Association and the Ohio Metropolitan Bar Association Consortium. All other commissioners are appointed by the Justices of the Supreme Court of Ohio on a rotating basis.
Shanda is a member of the firm’s Litigation and Dispute Resolution Practice Group. Her practice includes complex commercial litigation and transactions, education law, federal white collar crime and trial practice. Shanda was selected for inclusion in the 2010 Ohio Super Lawyers-Rising Stars list in the field of Business Litigation. She received her bachelor’s degree from Olivet Nazarene University and her J. D. from the University of Dayton School of Law.
